Biosketch

Ibrahim H. Osman is a distinguished academic specializing in business information and decision systems, currently holding the Husni Sawwaf Endowed Chair in Business and Management at the Olayan School of Business, American University of Beirut (AUB). He earned his Ph.D. in Management Science from Imperial College London, an M.Sc. in Operations Research with distinction from the University of Southampton, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Lebanese University. With over three decades of experience in research, teaching, and consulting, Dr. Osman’s expertise encompasses artificial intelligence, business analytics, electronic government, operational research, meta-heuristics, strategic performance measurement and management, shared value and sustainability modeling, as well as supply chain and logistics. His scholarly contributions have earned him recognition among the top 2% of scientists globally, as per a study by Stanford University. Additionally, he serves as the president of the Lebanese chapter of the Association for Information Systems (LAIS) since December 2017 and has been honored with the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers in 2015 for his contributions to economic and administrative reform.
