Funding

The Lebanese Academy operates as an independent, merit-based institution. Its activities are sustained primarily through membership dues and donations from individuals, organizations, and philanthropic partners who share its mission of advancing science, scholarship, and culture in Lebanon and beyond.

This model ensures intellectual independence and allows the Academy to pursue programs that serve the public good — supporting research recognition, policy dialogue, and cultural exchange without external influence.

All contributions directly support the Academy’s core activities, including:

  • Organizing scientific symposia, cultural dialogues, and public lectures.
  • Supporting young researchers and emerging scholars through mentorship and outreach initiatives.

  • Publishing reports, proceedings, and educational resources that promote evidence-based discourse.

  • Strengthening Lebanon’s international representation within global scientific and scholarly networks.

The Academy upholds principles of transparency and accountability in all financial matters. Annual reports summarize the use of funds and outcomes of supported initiatives.

Partnerships

The Academy is a member of the International Science Council (ISC), joining the world’s foremost networkof national academies and scientific unions, and contributes to global efforts that link science, policy, and society.

It also collaborates closely with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) to support scientific exchange, mentorship, and opportunities for researchers in Lebanon and the wider region.

The Academy is actively engaged in dialogue with regional and international academies, scientific councils, and artistic and cultural bodies to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, joint programs, and shared advocacy for research, education, and creativity.
